EBT Arrest
A Johnson City woman has been arrested for stealing an EBT card and using it at a local store. 26-year-old Christie Renee Gillespie is accused of an incident that happened in April where the victim told police someone had entered his house and stolen his EBT card. EBT cards are debit-like cards that are used by Department of Human services for payments of welfare benefits and food stamps. Gillespie was arrested after a police investigation found surveillance camera footage of her using the card at a Wal-Mart. She is charged with aggravated burglary and theft under five-hundred-dollars. (CC)
