Unicoi County Man Arrested for Hostage Situation in NC
32 year old John David Hamilton of Erwin is in custody after taking a woman hostage. Spruce Pine, NC authorities shot Hamilton during the incident and the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation is taking over the investigation. Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley says it all started in our region as Hamilton is wanted from our area for a probation violation for selling Schedule III and Schedule IV drugs, failure to pay child support and theft under $500.
