Virginia GOP Cancels Gun Request
A request from the Virginia Republican Party for the records on those residents who have gun carry permits has been stalled. The party decided not to push the issue citing the cost of assembling all the information. The republican party requested the information from the 121 circuit court clerks in the state that handle the information. It comes just weeks before a July first law goes into effect that will prevent the court clerks from releasing information about those holding a gun permit. One clerk, Jack Kennedy from Wise county contacted the State Attorney Generalís office saying it would not only take too much time and effort, but it is too close to the law being passed for them to try to obtain the information.
