Purse Snatching
Police say they don’t have a suspect in the robbery of a pregnant woman at a Red box kiosk in Bulls Gap. 25-year-old Brittany Cope told police the man approached as she was viewing the movies selection. He then grabbed her purse and began to struggle with her. Cope said the assailant then punched her in the head and face and knocked her backwards before running off. She told Hawkins County Sheriff’s deputies that she thinks he left on foot, since she doesn’t remember any car sounds. Cope also told police her purse held several prescriptions for drugs like Kolonopin, Subtex, and Nuratin. She said she also had her prenatal vitamins and pictures of her kids. Cope told police she was five months pregnant. Cope described the attacker and 6 feet tall, average build, wearing a black cap, blue jeans, and a flannel shirt. Police are continuing to investigate the case. (CC)
