Tri-Cities Retail Sales Down
Bristol took a big hit when it comes to retail sales for the first quarter. A new study released by the ETSU Bureau of Labor and Statistics dropped 6.5-percent. This is after two straight quarters of seeing the most growth in the area for sales. There were declines again for Kingsport…for the third quarter in row. For Johnson City the decline this quarter will make three straight. The fear now is that the report means the end of retail growth which was a bright spot for recovery from the recession. (CC)
