Elizabethton School Saga Continues
The former principal of an Elizabethton school lost the fight to keep his position and lost an appeal to the school board to fight that decision at last night’s meeting. Superintendent Ed Alexander transferred Doug Mitchell as principal of West Side Elementary to teacher at T.A. Dugger – a move that outraged many in the community. At the last minute, discussion of Alexander’s contract was put on the agenda as well. Some hoped he would be the one to lose his job. However board members decided to push the last minute item back until their next meeting.
