Former Police Officer Charged with Assault
Taking all necessary precautions, former co-workers of Brian Pellegrino have turned a case against him over to another agency. Pellegrino is a former officer with the Church Hill Police Department and is also accused of assaulting one of his neighbors. Chief Mark Johnson says even though Pellegrino no longer works for the agency, they’ve called Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office in to investigate to avoid a conflict of interest. Pellegrino is scheduled for trial Aug. 12.
