How Much Will Carter County Property Owners Pay?
It looks like Carter County residents will see a property tax increase. Members of the Budget Committee met last night to discuss the issue and voted for an increase of 8.5 cents for the General Fund. But in May, the committee already voted for a 15 cent increase. So, as of right now, they recommend raising property taxes by 23.5 cents. That committee meets again on Tuesday and the matter will have to be passed by the full county commission.
