KPT couple child neglect
The male was found nude, the female with an exposed breast and both were passed out in a truck, and their three children were left inside the Kingsport Aquatic Center well after closing. Staff at the Aquatic center told police they had been searching for the parents since 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. Numerous pages for the couple went unanswered and they were finally located in the back seat of the running truck around 6:30 in the evening after the children identified the truck as the one they were riding. 31-year-old Brett Jackson and 26-year-old Brandy Griffith did not immediately respond to police knocking at the doors and when they did stir they were not able to function. Police say they were under the influence of some kind of drug. Police say the two were checked out by EMS and taken to Sullivan County jail. Children’s services were contacted about the incident that involved two seven-year-old children and one six-year old. (CC)
