Holiday Travel Starts
A large portion of the population is getting ready to hit the highways for the holiday weekend. Tennessee began their travel time statistical gathering at midnight last night. Virginia starts midnight tonight and closes with Tennessee through midnight Sunday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and Virginia State Police say they both will have increased numbers of troopers on patrol looking for reckless, speeding and impaired divers. Traditionally, holiday travel periods see an increase in severe and fatal crashes.(CS)
