Sink hole
They are becoming an all too common occurrence in the area, and Bristol, Virginia is the latest to be plagued by a large sinkhole. After days of rain the sinkhole appeared on the corner of Melrose Street. The 8-foot hole is thought to be caused by the two plus inches of rain that fell within a 24-hour period. Crews did repair the hole, being cautious to excavate any debris from the area before laying down concrete that will help the eventual stability of the hole. (CC)
