Meth Lab
A Virginia State Trooper investigating a car on Interstate 81 at mile marker 8 led the arrest of two people for operating a mobile meth lab. Trooper A.L. Kelly stopped to ask the two if they needed any help when drug paraphernalia was spotted inside the vehicle. A search revealed a backpack that contained an active meth lab. 27-year-old David Clay of Glade Spring and his passenger 36-year-old Thomas Owens of Chilhowie were both arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine. There was a third person in the car, but that person ran from the scene before the officer arrived to help. Both men are held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon. (CC)
