Harris jury seated
A jury was seated Monday morning in Unicoi County Criminal Court in the case of former Sheriff Kent Harris and state allegations of misconduct. The jury took a lunch break and returned to hear opening statements from First Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Tony Clark. This is the third trial in one year for the former Sheriff. Earlier efforts on other charges wound up with hung juries in both those cases. There has been some complaint heard from Unicoi County citizens about by the high cost prosecuting these cases against the very popular one-time Sheriff. (cs)
