$18 Million ETSU Stadium Proposal
East Tennessee State University has proposed an $18 million, 10,000 seat football stadium, which the Tennessee State Building Commission is now considering. Commission chairman, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey thinks a nice stadium would add to exciting things going on at ETSU. 7.5 million would be funded by student fees and the rest would come from fundraising, or, be included in next years state budget. Phase I of the plan would seat 3500 fans with the finished project seating 10,000. Ramsey says ETSUís football team could be playing in the new stadium by 2016.
