Family shocked at DWI sentence
Several motorists in Gray had called 911 to report a possible drunken driver that December night of 20-10. But by the time officers had caught up with David Billings, he had already caused the accident that killed 27 year old Tanya K Martin. The woman’s family was shocked when Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood suspended Billings 9 year sentence to 90 days at a hearing in Jonesboro Tuesday. Judge Blackwood stated that because of “Billings’ exemplary life detailed in testimony and a pre-sentence report” the sentence was suspended to 90 days. (gw)
