Shooting Investigation Underway
An incident at the Elk Mills General Store has left one man dead. Sheriff Chris Mathes said a fight between 41-year old Kenneth Jeffrey Dugger and his neighbor ended fatally for the Carter County man. According to witnesses, Dugger and his shooter were very close. The Carter County Sheriff’s Department is still trying to put together the pieces of the incident that occurred around 9:00 last night. The suspect is in custody, but no charges have been filed at this point.
