Belk Shoplifter Caught
Another shoplifter has been caught at Belk in Johnson City. Loss prevention officers caught 49-year old Cindy Elaine Smith trying to leave the store around 7:30 last night with 20 items she hadnít paid for. Smith had taken items into the fitting room, cut off the tags and hid them in her purse. Police say the stolen merchandise was worth a little over $1,100. Smith was arrested for felony shoplifting and will be arraigned this afternoon.
