Carter County mayor says no to property tax increase
Carter County’s mayor has vetoed a proposed property tax increase, but says a wheel tax is possible. Mayor Leon Humphrey said he is not opposed to a tax increase, but he does not want a major increase when it comes to property taxes. He says the commission will evaluate other ways to balance the budget.(gw)
