Runway Repaving Project to Impact Travel
After about 25 years, Tri-Cities Regional Airport officials have decided to repave the runway. This means all flights will be cancelled for two weekends in September. Crews have been able to do a lot of the work overnight, but will need the extra time to complete the project. The runway will be closed from Friday evening September 13 to Monday morning September 16, and September 20 through September 23. Officials say the project will cost around $14 million and will improve safety.
