School Bus Accident in Abingdon
A school bus was hit by a pickup truck this morning in Abingdon. It happened on Wyndale Road with students on their way to High Point Elementary, Wallace Middle and John Battle High. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The wreck was a result of malfunction of the brakes on the pickup, which came across the road striking the bus and causing it to go into a ditch. Corinne Geller, a Virginia State Police spokesperson, says the call came at 7:05 this morning, and the crash is under investigation.(gw)
