Damascus Crash and Arrest
Damascus Police arrested a man after a car chase that ended with a crash and a manhunt. It happened Friday at around 8:30. Officers tried to stop a car that was going 20 miles an hour over the speed limit. Officers tried to pull over Josh Phillips but he fled going toward the White Top area. Phillips is accused of trying to cause the officer to wreck several times with erratic driving. When he crashed into a small ditch he left the car and ran on foot into the woods. Offices brought in a K9 that found Phillips and gave him a nip to the leg. Phillips was extremely intoxicated at the time of his arrest. He is charged with assault on an officer, felony alluding police, and DUI. More charges in the case are expected. (CC)
