Two Charged With Neglect
Two people are in custody in Sullivan County after police say they were found intoxicated in public with children in their care. The arrests were a result of two separate incidents. 46-year-old John Moore was arrested on Tuesday at Blountville Middle School after school officials reported an intoxicated man with a child. Moore failed field sobriety tests and booked into the jail on child neglect and public intoxication. The child was put in the care of DCS. On Wednesday officers responded to Wilcox Drive where they found 52-year-old Leticia Starnes with a 3-year-old child. She was unsteady on her feet and a witness told police she had fallen several times once on the child. (CC)
