Update: Hawkins County Shootout
After a shootout and a manhunt, The Hawkins County Sherrifs department found their man, and earlier reports that he was shot were mistaken. 44-year old Trevor Burton has been charged on three counts of attempted first degree murder after firing his gun at three officers. Officers were called after reports of gun fire near a hayride Thursday night. When they arrived they exchanged gunfire with Burton who then bolted through the woods and was later found behind his home. He received minor injuries, probably from his run through the woods. Officers with the help of TBI are continuing the investigation.
