Police Wait on Autopsy Results of Elizabethton Couple
The Elizabethton Police Department is still investigating a shooting that happened on Garden Road over the weekend. Captain Joy Markland tells us they believe the shootings happened between 3 and 3:30 on Sunday morning. A family friend stopped by the Griffin home and found 43-year old Melissa and 49-year old Michael dead with gunshot wounds. Markland says they found evidence of multiple gun shots being fired inside the home. They also found a firearm. After gathering evidence and talking to witnesses, police still believe no one else was involved in the shootings. Police are waiting on autopsy results to help them get a complete picture of what actually happened.
