230 Jobs Cut in Bristol
Difficulties in the coal market and another disappointing quarter of earnings will force Bristol based Alpha Natural Resources to cut 230 jobs. A spokesperson for the company says 130 of those jobs will involve laying off full time employees. The other cuts will come from eliminating already vacant positions within the company. The company has not released which positions or who will lose their jobs yet. They plan to notify employees within the next few weeks. Alpha Natural Resources has already cut around 3,000 jobs in the last year, but remains hopeful the market will turn around so they can begin hiring again.
