Rezoning Request Approved for Kingsport Gun Shop
After overwhelming support from the community, the Board of Mayor and Alderman approved a rezoning request from a Kingsport business. Freedom Firearms wants to open a gun shop across the street from Andrew Jackson Elementary School, but when originally asked, the board was hesitant to approve. City leaders asked for a couple of weeks to think about it. Although there were members from the community against the idea, the BMA approved the move at last night’s meeting with a 15-1 vote.
