THP Releases More Info About Body in Watauga Lake
Investigators with the Tennessee Highway Patrol say it was 81-year-old Juanita Ramsey of Chuckey who ended up dead in a car pulled from Watauga Lake. The day after she was reported missing, authorities found her car submerged in the Johnson County lake about 11 feet underwater. THP Sgt. Bill Miller tells us Ramsey slid through a gravel parking lot and down a 60 foot embankment after running through a stop sign on State Highway 167. Reports show drugs and alcohol were not factors. She was wearing her seatbelt, but officers say it wouldn’t have made a difference.
