Early Voter Turnout High in Sullivan County
Sullivan County election officials say they’re seeing a record start from voters wanting to cast their ballots early. Election Administrator Jason Booher says turn out from the first few days of early voting in this year’s primary more than doubled that of 2010. The race for mayor between Incumbent Steve Godsey and former mayor Richard Venable is said to be a major reason for the high interest. The Republican Primary will decide the winner of that seat since there are no Democratic or Independent challengers.
