Johnson City Police Confirm Gunfire; Appears Random
Johnson City police hunt for a maroon SUV after at least two incidents of apparent random gunfire. No one was hurt. In one incident, shots were fired at employee’s cars at a window tinting business, Sound Decision on North Roan Street. Manager Chris Phillips said,“Someone drove by and shot 6 to 8 rounds in 2 vehicles in the parking lot. A witness said there was one person in the vehicle and they just shot out from the driver’s seat through the passenger window." More gunfire on Leech Drive. Police Sgt. Don Shepard reported: “No individuals or people are being targeted. It just looks to be random because it’s a target rich environment and there are people standing on one side and they shoot at the other side.” (LM)
