Smyth County Authorities Reveal Identity of Killing
Smyth County authorities reveal it was 52-year-old Lola Lowe of Rural Retreat who was shot and killed in Chilhowie. 22-year-old Distinea Rowe is charged with killing her, shooting her once in the chest while the two were at a home in Chilhowie. Investigator Chip Shular said the home is where Rowe had been staying and the two were acquaintances, but he refused to say what led up to the fatal shooting. “We’re not turning anything loose on the case just yet concerning information,” he said.
