Wellmont on Agenda for Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen
Look for Kingsport leaders to make a formal response toward trying to persuade Wellmont Health System to keep its headquarters local. Mayor Dennis Phillips expressed concern and led a community forum with discussion about fears that if Wellmont merges with another system, it will mean loss of jobs and revenue through the likely loss of the headquarters. Tuesday night, the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Alderman is set to consider a resolution formally expressing concern on any change of the local health care system. (LM)
