Falwell, Jr. accuses Liberty trustees of smear campaign, breach of contract in suit

Former Liberty University President and Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. has filed suit against the school his father founded in Lynchburg—accusing institution governors of smearing his reputation.

Falwell resigned in August in the midst of a sex scandal that also involved his wife Becki and a former pool boy in Miami. Falwell is also accusing Liberty trustees of violating clauses in his contract.

Liberty announced shortly after Falwell left the launch of an independent investigation into Falwell’s business and legal dealings while president.
